Package for Lorne #6

Addressed to Maj. Evan Lorne, c/o Dr. Daniel Jackson

:: half a pound of gummi bears
:: 1 pound of Kona coffee beans
:: A dozen bottles of Welsh beer and ale from various local breweries
:: 4 packages of cotton boxer shorts (1 pair bright yellow with a yummy face printed on the front [a bit like these, without the bear]; 1 pair white with large blue and green polka dots, 1 pair red with a black waistband, 1 pair camouflage green.)
:: two home-burned CDs, one marked "wake up", the other marked "go to sleep."
:: 4 pots of jam, two marked "plain apricot", two marked "apricot & cinnamon"

Dear Maj. Lorne,

My mother asked me to let you know she's sent some packages to your base via For Any Soldier, and she also wanted me to include a few things for you.

I've also sent you some more music, as you seem to enjoy that. Let me know if I should some more movies sometime, as well. I hate to think of you all without new entertainment.

Give my best to McKay and Sheppard.

Take care,
Ianto

There's also a second, smaller box in the first one, containing:

:: two loaves of homemade bread, well-wrapped
:: a small photo album containing pictures of Ianto throughout his life, and also some photos of Lorne and Ianto together in the Jones house in Swansea
:: 2 jars of apricot preserves

Dear Major Lorne,

I am writing with the sincere hope that you and your people are doing well while you're so far from home. I also wish to thank you for your friendship with my son. I'm certain the two of you have discussed his past--in fact it would not surprise me to learn you know more about it than I do, as he has always tried to protect his family and sometimes that means he withholds his pain from us. But on your visit and times since that I've spoken with him, he has never seemed so happy nor so at ease.

Ianto said your mother showed him some pictures of you growing up while you were visiting. Since we did not have that chance while you were in Swansea, I made some copies of my favorites and have included them in this package.

Thank you for easing a mother's worry, Major. You are in my heart and prayers.

Yours,
Grace Jones
