[internet cafe] log (-type thing) package for Lorne
There is a package addressed to Maj. Evan Lorne on its way to Colorado. It contains:
- gummi bears
- coffee (a pound of Sumatra in a vacuum-sealed package)
- Cadbury chocolates (a box of Flake, a box of Dairy Milk, two boxes of Heroes and a Milk Tray)
- beer (a dozen bottles of local microbrew: half a dozen Dark and half a dozen traditional Welsh ale)
- bourbon (1 bottle Corner Creek)
- chocolate chip cookies (packaged--Ianto's not that good at baking.)
And a letter.
Dear Lorne,
I see what you mean about letters being an odd way to communicate in this day & age. There's not much going on that you don't already know about and that I can tell you--an occupational hazard, as you well know.
Just to give this a truly classic, hand-delivered mail feeling, I've enclosed a few photos of Cardiff so you can see the places I talk about. The first one is the Millennium Centre--our offices are nearby.

And a view of the Centre from across the bay. The centre looks like a slab of brass from certain angles--it's an odd design, but I've grown quite fond of it.

The third one is Cardiff Castle--it was going to be torn down a few years ago to make room for a nuclear plant, but thankfully cooler heads prevailed (and our mayor disappeared, and since she'd spearheaded the plan it quietly disappeared with her. Can't say as I mind--having a nuclear plant in the middle of an urban center is such a bad idea.)

The fourth is Bute Park, where I usually go running in the morning. The Taff cuts right through it and empties into the bay. I love the park--it's so peaceful, and such a refreshing spot of green in the middle of the city.

So, that's a few of my places.
Take care,
Ianto
