[internet cafe] 26 years ago today

It's my birthday.

My mum called early this morning (to catch me before I left for work, she said) and we had a brief chat. (With scolding that I don't call enough, of course.) She wanted to know all the usual things: am I dating again yet, how's the job, when am I coming to visit.

All's well with the family. Brother #2 is going to be a dad.

It's not the kind of thing I've brought up at work, so unless someone's been reading my personnel files I don't expect anyone to know or make a fuss. I may go out tonight, though. I can't remember the last time I went to the pub.

I think I'll do that playlist thing later.

Have a great birthday, man!

Thank you, it's been actually rather nice.

Happy birthday; go out and have a nice time.

Seems it's birthday season around here at the moment...

Thank you. Still deciding about the going out. We'll see.

Well, I hope you have a nice evening regardless of whether or not you go anywhere, then...

I'm sure it will be. Knock wood.

Happy Birthday!

[identity profile] cptn-astro-fan.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
You're welcome. Do anything fun to celebrate?

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm thinking about going out after work. I haven't planned anything particularly.

[identity profile] cptn-astro-fan.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh you should. Everyone needs to do something for their birthday. Just as long as nobody throws you a surprise party with surprise guests...lets just say it'll be full of a lot of drama and you don't need that on your birthday. Uh...speaking from personal experience, sorry.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, perhaps. It'll depend on how work goes.

Oh, my. That sounds less like a party and more like a setup. Did your friends stage an intervention?

[identity profile] cptn-astro-fan.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
No, nothing that bad. A good friend of mine thought it'd be great to throw me a surprise party when I turned 30. He invited a co-worker of mine without my knowing.

I get there and my boyfriend at the time was there...the co-worker didn't know I had a boyfriend and she sort of had a crush on me...it was disasterous! I hated him after that.

It didn't last, but I really wanted to fucking kill him.

I don't blame you. That's a terrible thing to do.

[identity profile] cptn-astro-fan.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes it was. I was able to be honest with her after that, but it was still awful at the time.

At least something good came out of it.

Well, I'm a bit late but still happy belated birthday. :)

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you. It was a very good day.

That's good. :)
