Stressful day.

Just the usual. Weevil chasing, negotiating with aliens wanting to move in, finding yet another piece of tech that has unsuspected side effects . . . I mean, it's all in a day's work, but it's usually four or five days, not just one.

It's slowed down. I'm at my flat now, though I haven't got round to taking off my tie yet.

It's a very good start. Usually if two hours have passed without being called back I can count on getting an uninterrupted night's sleep, so I'm just waiting for those two hours.

We had a hell of a mission. Cadman got hit pretty bad. I was in the infirmary all night. She's doing okay now though. Beckett's pretty good at patching people up.

i realize full well that i'm probably a little late on the draw, but i would still like to offer you the following, just in case you still need a laugh.

1. when i'm down, THIS (http://www.explosm.net/comics/50/) can usually make me giggle. you know, IF i actually did something as unmanly as giggling.

It is and it isn't. I'm sure when the day comes, it will be a good thing, but working up to it? Not so fun. Because, of course, you can't let every single person on the base have the day off. Some people are going to have to work. So we have to figure out exactly how many people have to work and when and where and who.

But as far as the actual rest day goes, I'm definitely looking forward to that.

Such a geek, Ianto. God, I love you. I think it'll be okay once I get down to it. Most of the department heads will be in charge of their own scheduling, so I won't have to deal with any of the civilians. It just seems daunting at the moment.
