following the herd

Taken from Lorne and everybody else.

1) Ask me anything. Anonymously (I worked out how to switch that IP thingy off, even), or even privately, and I'll answer honestly.

2) Tell me something you want me to take a picture of (bearing in mind you don't want me fired or posting classified things, people) - it can be anything at all, and I'll do my best to get a photo of it for you.

I can't answer questions or take pictures of anything classified, but everything else is fair game.

[ooc: Lorne and Ianto get busy in the comments.]

I do work in Cardiff. I work in a tourist assistance office.

I am an expert in the field of coffee.

My favorite place in the world is this:

Bute Park, here in Cardiff.

you enjoy dealing with tourists? and do you ever deliberately give the wrong information to a tourist that really annoys you?!

'expert' is a pretty hefty claim, you got any evidence to back that up?!

that looks nice, peaceful. must be good to have your favourite place in the world right on your doorstep!

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-09-27 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I've never deliberately misled a tourist. Most of them all right: they just want to see something worth looking at, most of them.

Yes, I can. Several people on this comm have tasted my coffee and they can testify on my behalf.

I'm a homebody. I love everything about my city.

you must have the patience of a saint.

well witness testimony is pretty compelling evidence.... good enough for me. So, in your expert opinion what's the best blend of coffee?

so have you always lived in Cardiff? and would you ever leave?!

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-09-27 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
It's one of my better quailities.

Best blend . . . well, I like a dark roast best just with high-quality beans. Most blends are to make up for inexpert brewing, I've found.

I've lived in Cardiff except for the four years I went to Cambridge and the two years I worked in London.

[identity profile] sparkingfreak.livejournal.com 2007-09-27 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
well it's a good quality to have.

so what's more important, the quality of the beans or the experience in the brewing? (I ask as I happen to adore coffee so now I'm curious, is it better to invest in the best beans or to make sure my next butler has the necessary skills?)

so apart from those 6 years it's always been Cardiff.... wow, couldn't imagine staying in one place for so long! Have you never considered living anywhere else?

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-09-27 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you.

The quality of the beans. The most experienced brewer can't make up for stale beans.

I've considered it. It may yet happen. There are a lot of extenuating circumstances, though.

[identity profile] sparkingfreak.livejournal.com 2007-09-27 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
good to know. Any recommendation for sources of beans? money's not an object, the perfect coffee is worth it!

aren't there aways extenuating circumstances in life?!

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-09-27 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Koba and arubica are best, but anything that's properly stored should be fine. Don't buy any beans that have been stored loose in a bin: go for vacuum-packed instead, and only buy as much as you'll use in a week.

Heh. I suppose there are.

[identity profile] sparkingfreak.livejournal.com 2007-09-27 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
got it, thanks. I'll make sure I stick to that in future. (oh and very appropriate icon!)

ah, but the question is would we have life any other way?!

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-09-27 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
You're welcome. (I have lots of coffee icons.)

Sometimes I wouldn't mind life being a bit less interesting. Sometimes I think it's just perfect.

[identity profile] sparkingfreak.livejournal.com 2007-09-27 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
so I can see, they're very pretty!

so, do the perfect times make the rather-too-interesting times worth it?

[identity profile] sparkingfreak.livejournal.com 2007-09-27 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
*smiles*

then that's good.
