Piper!
Your package arrived today. Thank you so much. I'll see that Owen gets the cookies: I think he's still in hospital for another day or two so I'll take him a bag this afternoon.
The others will be shared. Even I can't eat that many cookies :).
Thank you again!

Email from Woolsey today. He said the UK IOA representative will be sending me some official information and the application and I should get it sometime next week.

Christ, babe, that's fantastic!
I haven't met the UK representative, but from what I understand of IOA politics, it's probably best to play up your national pride. The other representatives tend to be a little sore over the U.S. having control of the gate, so they'll probably want people from their countries to be...not exactly hostile, but not overly affectionate towards the U.S.

No problem. I can do national pride. Throw in a few Cymru am byth!s here and there . . . leave off the English-bashing . . .

Yeah, English-bashing probably won't help. I'm pretty sure the UK rep is English. And a bit stuffy, from what I've seen of him. Most of the IOA people are a bit stuffy.

That was a mild attempt at a joke. I know how to talk to the English. I lived in London for quite a while, remember.
I can deal with stuffy. I've been accused of being that myself a time or two.

I know it was. I wasn't taking you seriously.
You? Stuffy? Whoever accused you of that obviously didn't know you very well.

Love, I've been accused of being everything from stuffy to OCD, just because I like order and prefer dressing for work like it's work rather than play.

I could see where someone might get the idea that you were OCD. But people thinking you're stuffy just makes me feel like I'm in on a secret.

The secret of the vastness of my dorkitude?
no subject
Yep. It makes me feel a little smug. Because I know something about you that they clearly don't.

I don't mind keeping that between us. Lovers should have a few things that are just their own.

Good. I like that you're my big damn geek even if no one else knows.

I love being your big damn geek, too.

I love you, babe. And you make me so happy.

I love you too. You make me happier than I thought I could be.

Thanks for taking the cookies to Owen. I thought he could use some cheering up.
You're quite welcome. :)

Work quite literally took a bite out of him this week, so someone thinking of him was doubly welcome.
I took them to him in hospital this afternoon. He'll thank you himself once he's recovered.
I think they were a hit with the rest of my co-workers as well. I bring homemade things every now and again but there are only about three things I make well, so actual good food is always welcome.

Aww yay, I'm glad everyone liked them. :)
So, did you eat that whole tub of icing in one sitting?
[OOC: OMG I fail at commenting tonight. *facepalms*]

We eat so much takeout that home-cooked food is a novelty, I think.
Good lord, no.
...maybe if I'm bored over the weekend, though.
