(no subject)

Second jam-making experiment today.

More apricot: one plain batch, one with a bit of cinnamon in. I had some of that, of course--I had to verify it's edible. (It was.)

It's been a quiet day. I can't say as I mind.

If it's not something you'd normally wear it's still a costume.

(And that sounds like one you'd be particularly hot in, too.)

Hm...maybe I will do the tux. I could send you pictures. (And I like martinis more than beer, particularly the way Sam described this one. *shudders*)

Well, if we end up having a costume party, that's what I'll wear then.

(And I'll be sure to send you pictures, so you can see if you're right.)

I'm going to be thinking about you in a tux that whole night now. (*laughs* PBR isn't so bad once you add the lime, and it's about the cheapest way to get drunk most places.)

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-29 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Private to Lorne]

Yes, please do. I wish you could send more than just you in costume but memory will just have to do.

(Life is too short for bad beer.)

Got your package off today, by the way. There's some things from my mum, too.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-29 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[Private to Ianto]

Memory will have to do for now.

(True. But when you're young and broke, PBR is the way to go.)

That's great. It's getting close to holiday baking time for my mom, so I wouldn't be surprised if you got a package from her one of these days.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-29 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[Private to Lorne]

Memory has to do for a lot of things.

*laughs* I'm looking forward to it. Your mum's a brilliant cook.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-29 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Private to Ianto]

Not forever though. Just for right now.

I'll be sure to tell her you said so. Though that might mean you get more baked goods than you know what to do with.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-29 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[Private to Lorne]

Yes, just for now.

If it gets too overwhelming I'll bring the rest into work. We eat too much takeout, anyway--some homemade food would be good for us.

[Private to Ianto]

You may have to. She gets a little...enthusiastic at Christmas. Thanksgiving too.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-29 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[Private to Lorne]

For some reason that melts me a little.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-29 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Private to Ianto]

That my mom will want to drown you in cookies and breads?

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-29 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[Private to Lorne]

Yes.

I mean, it's pretty damn cute. Your mum likes me. It makes me happy.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-29 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Private to Ianto]

Of course she likes you. You're you. And you make me happy. There was absolutely no way she wasn't going to like you.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-29 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[Private to Lorne]

Thank you, sweetheart. *kisses*

I worried, before I met her, that she wouldn't. I wasn't sure how much she knew about us, for one thing, or how she'd feel about her son's lover being a man.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-29 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[Private to Ianto]

You're welcome, darling. *kisses back*

That's understandable, given my situation. Both my parents were actually always open-minded about that sort of thing. My mom was better at expressing it than my dad, but I always knew he'd be okay with it.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-29 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[Private to Lorne]

Exactly. My parents are okay with it for me because they've had ten years to get used to the idea--my father, particularly, took a while to come round.

But she didn't detest me on sight, so I counted that as a win.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-29 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[Private to Ianto]

It's been a long time since I brought someone home. I think she was really glad to know I've got someone in my life.

Of course, it helped that you're so amazing.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-29 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[Private to Lorne]

Oh, sweetheart . . . *blushes and kisses you*

My parents loved you too, you know.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-30 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Private to Ianto]

*grins and kisses you back*

Did they? Even your dad?

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-30 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
[Private to Lorne]

Even my dad. He's gotten used to me having boyfriends.

. . . not that I've had a tonne of them, you understand.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-30 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Private to Ianto]

I just always seem to have a harder time getting dads to like me than moms.

...really? You don't bring home a different guy every weekend?

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-30 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
[Private to Lorne]

Dads are protective in a different way than mums, I expect. More of a "What are you doing to my child" while mums tend to think "Are you making my child happy".

. . . really. I only bring home a different bloke every other weekend.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-30 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
[Private to Ianto]

Well, apparently I look like the sort of person who is doing perverted things to my significant others.

...oh, well that's all right then. Dork.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-30 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
[Private to Lorne]

Yes, you do. That innocent smile isn't fooling anyone. You're a sex machine and it's in every line of your face.

Geek.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-30 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
[Private to Ianto]

What, this smile? It's completely innocent. Would someone with that face be doing perverted things to anyone?

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-30 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
[Private to Lorne]

Yes.

I know where that tongue's been.
