good news at last

[Filtered to friends]

Guess who was waiting for us when we returned from the States? That would be my brother Macsen. Apparently he'd been camping out in the back garden while we were away, mainly living in the garden shed (and yes, I am going to make him pay for the window he broke) and subsisting on the neighbors' fruit trees.

*sighs*

I haven't gotten the whole story out of him yet, but he has let me let our parents know he's still alive and they've let the police know he's been found. (I feel I should add that all I had to do was say "Torchwood" at critical moments and they backed off any suggestions of questioning him. Love it when work comes in handy.) We had a very long conversation in Welsh about this whole thing last night--he refuses to tell me anything useful in English, "just in case."

I am not ruling out drug-fueled paranoia at this point. However, I'm so glad he's alive and unhurt that I'm willing to let a lot of things pass right now.

(The beating for putting us through this will happen later. Preferably with large sticks.)

(And I suppose I ought to be flattered that out of everyone he knows, he chose me as his safe haven...still want to kill him, though.)

At any rate, my brother is asleep in the guestroom, my parents want to fetch him tomorrow though he hasn't said he'll actually go with them, and whatever he's afraid of, I'll take care of it.

At least he's safe for now. And happily eating us out of house and home. :)

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
The Jones boys are bottomless wells, 'strewth.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
We should pit him against Ronon sometime in an eating contest.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
With one hand tied behind their backs?

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! Eating...blueberry pies or something equally messy.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. Macsen would do it, too.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
So would Ronon if it were a matter of pride.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Pride in eating pie!

...I wonder if I shouldn't have left him alone.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
If you're worried, you can go back and check on him. Or I can.

I think he'll be okay, though. Better than he was in the shed at least.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
If I could think of a way of checking on him without checking on him...maybe I'll ask Tosh if she's got anything up her sleeve I could borrow.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I was thinking of it in a more "I don't want to embarrass him kind of way" but I guess essentially...yeah.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Why would he be embarrassed?

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Big brother coming home in the middle of the day to make sure he hasn't run off again? I'd be embarrassed in that situation. Which is probably why I won't do it and just hope he's still home when we get there.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
You could call and ask him if he wants you to pick up something for dinner? That way, you'd know he's still there and he wouldn't be embarrassed.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
That is brilliant. I knew my baby would help me figure this out. *smooches*

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Awww, baby. *blushes*

Just tryin' to help. *smooches*

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
One of us has to be the sensible one when it comes to my family, and as I'm generally incapable of it, it's up to you.

By the way, he wants Thai.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I think you're sensible far more often than I am, baby.

Mmm...Thai.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Not when it comes to my family. I get all emotional and whatnot.

Pad Thai with tofu? Tons of spicy peanut sauce? Nice and basic.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I suppose I can try to be the sensible one when it comes to your family.

Sounds good. And that soup you like.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
As I said, one of us ought to be, and it's better if it's you.

Yum. Yes, that'll be a good supper.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I will endeavor to stay sensible then.

It will be. And now you know he's still there, so you can stop worrying about it.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
...Hi, I'm Ianto, have we met? I never stop worrying.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Not stop worrying all together. Just about this particular thing.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. Well, perhaps. I'll feel better when he tells me exactly what's going on.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
But for the moment, he's safe, and you know where he is. The rest will sort itself out in time.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you need me to come upstairs and cuddle you for a bit?

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[ooc: Sure. You want to start it?]

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[ooc: La! (http://community.livejournal.com/tic_logs/108247.html)]

[identity profile] chigong-master.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm so glad you found your brother, Ianto, and that he wasn't hurt. I can only imagine the relief you must feel.

(And yes, it's ok to be happy for now and save the beatings for later...)

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you.

(Probably not a literal beating. Probably just more yelling. Perhaps some brotherly wrestling...)

[identity profile] chigong-master.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
**smiles** Well, yes...I had a feeling it was mostly figurative... ~_^

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Just checking. It's hard to tell online sometimes.

[identity profile] chigong-master.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
**nods** I know... one more reason why, when practical, verbal communication is better. ^_^

[identity profile] chefpiper.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
I'm so glad to hear that you found your brother and that he's alright.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you. I don't know about all right, but he's found, at least.

[identity profile] come-by-shep.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 08:46 am (UTC)(link)
I'm glad he's ok, Ianto.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you, John.

I appreciate the offer, by the way, of helping out, but I'm very glad we didn't have to go to such extremes.
