Lorne, if you're around, please tag. Our visitor died last night, and. God. Just please tag if you can.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-03 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
God, babe. What happened? Are you okay?

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-03 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
One of our visitors, the one I was telling you about last night, he died. He killed himself last night.

Please hold me.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-03 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Fuck, Ianto, I'm so sorry.

*holds you so, so tight, wrapping myself completely around you*

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
*curls up in your arms*

We couldn't help him. That's the worst part. We've never had to help anyone like this and we failed with him.

Lorne, Jack was--fuck. I have this terrible suspicion and I don't know what to do with it. Jack was with him, Jack stayed with him, and I think Jack wanted to go with him, too. Fucking hell. I want to just scream at him and I don't want to ask.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
*rubs my hands over your back and rocks you gently*

God, darling, there are so many things I could say right now, and none of them are any good, but...this isn't your fault.

Are you worried Jack might try on his own? If you are, you need to talk to him.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
I know it's not. It's not that. It's no one's fault, really. Just a man out of his time who couldn't find his way into ours.

I don't know what I'm saying. Or thinking. Or anything.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
I can't even imagine that, really.

What do you need, babe? I'm here for you. I want to do whatever I can.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
I need to hear your voice and feel your heartbeat and smell your skin.

But just talk to me. Tell me what you did today. Tell me what the ocean smells like and how many stars are out. Talk to me.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Okay. Well, I had a mission yesterday, so today was pretty laid back. I went for a run this morning down by the water. And then I caught up on some paperwork and filed my mission report. Cadman had me show her some hand to hand moves she was having trouble with.

And I just got back from dinner. It's still light out, but the sun is starting to set over the city.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
What did you have for dinner? Can you tell me about the mission yesterday?

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
Dinner was chicken(ish) parmesan with not-quite-garlic bread and Athosian spice cake for dessert.

And the mission was fairly routine. One of our allies was having trouble with their generators, so I took Zelenka and another engineer and a couple marines to see if we could help at all.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Spice cake sounds good. I like that during the holidays.

Is it terrible of me that I'm glad it was boring?

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
It's very good. They make them in individual servings and put this purple frosting on them. Teyla says they're traditional, but I've only ever seen people make them with food coloring, so I don't know how authentic they are. Lots of nuts though, and something that's like cinnamon and cloves together.

It's not terrible at all. Any more, I'm glad when it's boring too.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
Heh. Purple frosting.

Completely random, I read once that what we cause mauve is what the ancients called purple. And I love Homer's "wine-colored sea." I think it's Homer, anyway, I can't recall at the moment.

I think I'm free-associating a bit.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
Nothing wrong with free association.

I don't think I've ever seen a wine-colored sea. But that's a really evocative image. I don't remember much from Homer besides "rosy-fingered dawn" and "the man of twists and turns".

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Having taken a quick spin via Google, apparently it's from the Odyssey, and Patrick O'Brien used it as a title for one of his Master & Commander novels.

That was a mnemonic device device, those epitaphs. God, can you imagine memorizing epics? I feel proud when I can remember every stanza to Jabberwocky.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, yes. The Navy *shudder* novels.

I feel proud when you can remember every stanza to Jabberwocky too. I've never been very good at memorizing poetry.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
. . . I thought Russel Crow was hot in the film, even if he was a bit doughy.

Not even a Shakespearian sonnet? And Ogden Nash couplet?

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Russell Crowe is often hot, despite being in the Navy.

Well, there was that one Shakespearian sonnet that stuck for god knows what reason, but mostly, if I want to remember a poem, I have to have a copy of it somewhere.

[ooc: Popping out for a bit. Back in a couple hours.]

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Tell me your crushes. I want to know.

Which one? I know we've quoted poetry at each other but I can't remember a sonnet at the moment.

[ooc: No problem.]

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
My celebrity crushes? Well, Russell Crowe is hot, as we've already established. And I've always had a bit of a thing for Sean Bean. Oh, and Karl Urban, once I saw LOTR.

It's 116.

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds
Or bends with the remover to remove.
Oh, no, it is an ever fixed bark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken.
It is the star to ev'ry wand'ring bark
Whose worth's unknown, although its height be taken.
Love's not time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come.
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks
But bears it out, even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

The punctuation's probably off, but it is from memory.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Mm. Sean Bean is lovely. I approve. I have no opinion on Karl Urban one way or the other, though.

Mm. I love that one. I was going to type up one for you but my mind's gone blank. Sorry :(.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
Who are yours?

That's all right. You don't have to quote me poetry. I'll still love you.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Mm. Sean Bean, of course. Most of the cast of Lord of the Rings, actually. They're all quite lovely. Jack Davenport. Lucy Liu.

Thank you for being so accepting, my darling.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
They kinda hit the jackpot on attractive people when they were casting that, didn't they? Although, I must admit that I don't find Viggo Mortensen all that good looking. Lucy Liu's a good choice though. Who's Jack Davenport?

Just trying to be a good boyfriend, baby.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you know that sweaty sex kink I have? Unwashed Aragorn hits that in the most interesting way.

Jack Davenport plays Norrington in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, and he was on a popular sitcom over here called Coupling for a long time.

You're a wonderful boyfriend, sweetheart. I love you so much.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, yeah. I can see that. I'd still pick Boromir or Faramir over Aragorn.

Huh...yeah he is kinda hot, isn't he?

I love you too, darling.

[ooc: One of my professors when I was in college was friends with the woman who owns the gallery in NYC where VM shows his work. She said that the whole "unwashed" look isn't an act. She's pretty sure he doesn't actually shower more than once every other week or so.]

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
. . . oh, Faramir. Yeah, he works for me, too.

Very hot. And very funny in Coupling, in a very awkward, occasionally spouting off on a rant kind of way.

*holds tight and kisses*

[ooc: Hee. I can believe it. He looks so good dirty I don't care.]

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
Have you seen 300? David Wenham and Gerard Butler...yeah...that totally does it for me.

I kind of like awkward sometimes.

*holds you and kisses back*

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't yet. I haven't been to the cinema in months. I ought to just rest it, but I never get to the video store either.

I do, too.

*brushes my nose against your cheeks*

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
You should definitely watch it. It's amazing. I saw it when I was home.

*kisses your temple*

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
Hot men in loincloths, how could I say no?

*sucks your earlobe*

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
Hot, sweaty, dirty men in loincloths. Right up your alley, I would think.

*nuzzles your throat*

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
*shivers* Oh, yes.

*combs my hand through your hair*

Love, I'm staying at the Hub again tonight. I don't dare leave Jack on his own just yet. Just so you know.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
*kisses your jaw*

So no sex tonight. Got it.

How's he doing?

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
There can still be snogging. *kisses your forehead*

I hope he's resting. I had to be very stern with him earlier.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
Mmmm...snogging. *kisses your nose*

How are you doing?

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
*kisses your mouth for a while*

I'm all right. I'm worried, and losing John just reminds me of all the other people we've lost, and I miss you so much right now. I want to hold you so badly.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
*kisses you back*

Oh, darling. I want to be there. I want to be holding you.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
*lays my head on your shoulder and holds you close*

I carry your heart with me. I carry it in my heart.

Okay, that's somebody else's, but it's the only words that suit.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
*wraps my arms around you and kisses your hair*

That's perfect, babe. Exactly right. You do carry my heart.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
I love you, Lorne. *kisses your neck*

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
I love you too, Ianto. *kisses your forehead*

[ooc: Bedtime.]

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-10-04 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
[ooc: Okay. Wrap here?]
