I don't know, though--I was thinking of wearing a tuxedo and carrying a martini and saying I was James Bond.

They mostly go for leather pants and cotton shirts. I don't know if they do costumes as such. I could ask Teyla or Ronon, I guess.

That would actually work. In Virginia, they call PBR with lime a redneck on vacation.

I worried, before I met her, that she wouldn't. I wasn't sure how much she knew about us, for one thing, or how she'd feel about her son's lover being a man.

That's understandable, given my situation. Both my parents were actually always open-minded about that sort of thing. My mom was better at expressing it than my dad, but I always knew he'd be okay with it.

Exactly. My parents are okay with it for me because they've had ten years to get used to the idea--my father, particularly, took a while to come round.

But she didn't detest me on sight, so I counted that as a win.
