The Handpresso, a portable espresso maker.

(Of course, in my heaven rather than a Starbucks on every corner you'll find a mom & pop coffee shop where the beans are always fresh and nobody says "half-caff.")

Probably the same things I did with Sam and Martha: taken you around the city to the tourist spots, got drunk at some pubs, bored you with museums . . .

Yeah, but...I mean I loved you. What would you do if you were in love with someone and then you found out you didn't even really like them?

It doesn't really matter anymore, but for what it's worth, I'm really glad you liked me.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I . . . think that happens a lot. You can really care for someone, want the best for them, want them to be happy, but not actually enjoy their company for whatever reason. I think abusive relationships are more like that, really, but even when couples just drift apart I don't think it's so much that they stop loving each other as they just don't like each other anymore. I think liking is a big part of love.

I'm glad you like me too, sweetheart. I like you a lot.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but usually it happens gradually. It's not like all of a sudden you find out you don't like someone. It's more that you like them less and less until you don't want to be with them anymore. Or at least, that's how it's been for me.

I like you a lot too, darling.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
For me it was more a question of chemistry and attraction than liking, I suppose. 'Like' is a pretty encompassing word. I knew I liked you, in the sense that I'd want to talk to you and have a beer with you and all that. If we'd want each other in person, that was what I was worried about.

But yes. In most cases it happens gradually, but internet affairs are hardly most cases.

And I like your voice and your eyes and your big feet.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
That I can understand, I suppose. Still, it would have been extremely disappointing to have come all that way and discover we didn't want each other.

I like your knees and your hands and your smile.

Then we probably would have just ended up Very Good Friends.

I like other bits of you that I'm not going to mention in an unfiltered entry :D.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose so.

I like those bits of you too.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not upset, babe. I'm really not.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay.

The important thing is now, anyway, where we know we like each other and want each other and love each other. All questions answered.

I love you.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Absolutely. That's all that really matters.

I love you too.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Can I snog you some more?

*snogs*

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Baby, you can always snog me some more.

*snogs*

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Good, 'cause I like snogging you.

*snogs*

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmm...I like snogging you too.

When you were here the first time I wrote private entries in my journal about you, so I'd remember what it felt like. I've just been rereading them, and you know . . . there really wasn't a moment after you stepped off the train that I doubted how much I wanted you.

*snogs*

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you, darling. I was a little nervous about meeting you, you know. I worried that it might be awkward. But I always knew that I'd want you, and I was never wrong.

*snogs*

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I was nervous, too. But that passed.

*snogs*

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, good. 'Cause if you were still nervous, I'd be worried.

*snogs*

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
No, the last thing to cross my mind when I think of you is nerves. More like MORE PLEASE.

Or . . . MOAR PLZ.

:D.

I love that you're such a dork, baby.

I love that you love that.
