Lorne's project for today is building a fence for the back garden, so Kai and Matilda can play in a little more safety. So this morning we all went to the home store to buy supplies. (Milena had a great time chasing Kai up and down the aisles. Or Kai had a great time running away from her. One of those.)

Then afterwards we went to a toy store and got Kai this, so he can "help Daddy" without actually being near any power tools. He about spazzed out with joy when we took it out of the box, and he's banging happily away with his hammer right now on the back deck. (Matilda, on the other hand, has hidden herself under the couch. I can see her nose if I look down.)

I think my job today is mostly to keep Lorne well-supplied with lemonade and beer, and possibly also to make sandwiches.

You're very good at your job, babe. *smooches*

Thank you, baby. It's a lovely fence.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Aww, thank you, darling. Now we just have to see if it holds up against their combined force.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Kai's already patted it with confusion, did you see him?

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
I did, yeah. Kinda gives a new meaning to 'testing his boundaries.'

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
At least it'll be a good ten years before he can reach the latch on the gate.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe not quite ten, but it'll be a good long while, yeah.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
Sooner than we expect, at any rate.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm sure it will be.

Hey, babe? What do we want to do for his birthday?

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
Family party? Maybe fly over your mum again?

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
She'd love that, I'm sure. I could see if Emma could bring the boys over too. It's about time they met Kai.

Although maybe he should meet Carys and Anwen before then, just so it's not too overwhelming.

We could visit Griffen next weekend, if they're not busy. I know the girls do a lot of summer activities.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
That's probably a good idea. We can give Milena the weekend off.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
I think she'd like that. It'd give her some time with her lad.

I'll call Griffen tonight.

Sounds good. I'll call my mom and Emma too and see if they'll be able to make it for his birthday.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Brilliant. We'll have to have a big party, then if they're coming all that way. Bouncy castle?

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
A bouncy castle would be perfect, but will we be able to keep Jack out of it?

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
So long as he takes off his shoes, why should we? ;)

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, all right. I suppose we could let him. Just this once.

...we should probably introduce Kai to the team before the party too.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, we should. Something simple like lunch, I think.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Maybe at home so he's comfortable.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I think so. With so many grownups around he might get a bit nervous.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, and at home he'll know where he can hide out if he wants to.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Hopefully there'll be little of that. They're all good with children, more than you'd expect.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
I know. I think he'll be okay with them, really. He's getting much better around strangers. He was really good in the store today.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
He was. Won all those clerks' hearts.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
That's 'cause he's irresistibly cute, just like you.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
Aww, baby. You've already got my heart.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
That doesn't mean I can't tell you how cute you are.

Or how beautiful, or how smart, or how amazingly good at kissing me.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Somebody angling for a cwtch?

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Want to meet me on the sofa?

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
[ooc: Sure. You want to start it?]

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
[ooc: La! (http://community.livejournal.com/tic_logs/163567.html)
