As Ianto predicted, no one notices when the tall man steps out of a coffee shop with a tiny pregnant woman on his arm.

Teyla may notice the cold, though.

"My car's not far," Ianto says.

"Yes." He puts down his cup.

Teyla points to the box on the tray. "The terron cakes come last. They are to sweeten our mouths and our hearts so that we do not dwell on what is past but look for a brighter future."

He opens the box and puts each cake on a little plate, and hands one to Teyla.

Teyla takes the plate and picks up the small cake. The cakes are round and covered in a sugar-like substance. They taste spicy, like cinnamon and nutmeg and cloves. She smiles as she eats it.

"It's like Christmas cake," Ianto says after he's had a few bites. "All it needs is raisins."

Teyla wrinkles her nose at the thought. "You would put raisins in a terron cake?"

". . . you don't like raisins?"

She shakes her head. "No. They are...mushy."

Ianto laughs. "Okay, no raisins."

Teyla laughs a little at herself as well. "I can handle many things, but not mushy fruit."

"The cakes are very good without the raisins," he says generously.

"I am glad you like them," Teyla says. "And I am glad that Bar is much better at making them than I am."

"I've never had any bad food from the Bar."

"Nor have I. It is amazing, is it not? That she can create so many things from so many different worlds?"

"Magic," Ianto says with a smile. "Or whatever it is that makes her go. I'm not convinced it's magic, exactly."

"Nor do I. I do not believe in magic."

"But it's hard to say the Bar's run by technology, don't you think?"

"I do not know," Teyla says, considering this. "I have seen technology do a great many things."

"Have you seen it create food out of nothing?" He licks sugar from his thumb. "Good food?"

Teyla thinks for a moment, finishing her cake. "No, I have not. But I have seen it create other things out of what seemed to be nothing."

"See, it's the nothing part that throws me. The Bar must have amazingly huge stores, or the capability to pull matter from the universe and, like, organize it into something new. Yeah?"

"Why would she not have large stores? I lived there for several months, and I do not believe I saw even the half of what exists there."

"I haven't explored any," Ianto admits. "Maybe sometime I should."

"I did not explore much. But I know there is much more to the bar than you see at first glance."

"Bigger on the inside," Ianto murmurs and frowns, wondering if Time Lord Technology had something to do with Milliways.
