It's chilly but clear out--though it will rain by nightfall, from the look of the clouds in the distance--and Ianto spreads a blanket on the grass near other picnickers and kneels down to unpack the basket. "Cheese and crackers for starter?"

[ooc: have I mentioned I kind of love their relationship?]

"The only time I'm not thinking about Lorne and missing him and wanting him is when I'm with Jack, and that's mostly because at those particular times I'm not thinking much at all."
[ooc: Me too. They're so easy with each other. *crosses fingers Jones&Jones are like this next season on TW*]

[ooc: oh yeah, very easy and relaxed and martha can do things to him and not worry if he'll take it the wrong way. She rather likes that. *hopes so too, though I honestly had a bit of a soft spot for Ianto/Martha before TIC*

And with the Torchwood team on the site, just a bad idea all around.
[ooc: If those rumors about Ianto getting a girlfriend turns out to be Martha that would be AWESOME.]

[ooc: you know, that may be the only way I handle a break in the Jack/Ianto...]

"Though it's a very nice cock. I've grown quite fond of it."
[ooc: Exactly. Put him with someone awesome. If she falls for Owen I'd be very disappointed. He already has all the girls!]

[ooc: oh god... Martha falls for Owen, Gwen gets with Jack and Tosh and Ianto get no screen time. ...those are my expectations for season 2. That way, if there's a difference, I'll be pleasantly surprised but... I'm a bit skeptical.]

Martha took a bit of baguette and jam, popping it into her mouth, "So what made you angst about bedding him? He sounds," she waggled her eyebrows to show what she meant.

He stares at the sky a moment. "And because he's my boss."

He takes a deep breath.
"Jack doesn't do relationships. He's . . . got a very unique perspective on the world. I mean, I wouldn't have him any different, but it does make our future look rather limited.
"And now there's Lorne . . . who I just . . . I want him so much I can hardly bear it."

"For now it's just three screwed-up people trying to make the best of what they've got, I think."

She pulled back, sitting up to card her fingers through Ianto's hair. "I assume you've talked with Lorne? I know leave is difficult to get but is there a chance he might be able to take some time off?
Does John know? I don't remember if you said he did, maybe he could help Lorne get leave... It might be easier making a decision if you know how well you and Lorne do in person. I mean, if you guys are half as good as we are..." She trailed off jokingly.

"We've talked about it some, but mostly in a 'maybe someday' kind of way.
"He knows. He figured it out. But Lorne keeps telling me how important the work they're doing is and he doesn't want to leave it undone . . ."

"What was the problem with me grabbing him and then taking him back five mninutes after we had taken him again?"

"It's the showing up out of nowhere, taking one of their people and disappearing into nothing that worries me. Not how long you'd be gone. It's a military base. They'd probably notice you right away."
