[internet cafe] my day just got very, very strange

[Filtered from Jack]

Oh.

My.

God.

The Captain has a journal.

Um.

Be nice to him? And don't mention the moral dilemma I've been having here about jumping him?

God.

My boss.

I'd find that very hard to do. And I do mean very. Good luck with that.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
You'd find not jumping him hard to do, or just not mentioning it?

[identity profile] cptn-astro-fan.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd find both hard. I kinda know where you're coming from, only the guy I'd like to jump isn't a colleauge so much as my best friend. It's never going to happen, but its hard to stop thinking about it every now and then when I go home from the club alone.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Our history is complicated, to put it mildly. I've said some things, he's said some things . . . and that he is my superior makes it even more so.

[identity profile] cptn-astro-fan.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww. That sucks. Yeah, relationships in the workplace would be tough. I wouldn't know, but I've heard about them.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
The problem is, with our job, it's hard to meet people in normal circumstances. The work is so intense and the hours are so long, you see.

And once you get to know the Captain I'm sure you'll see why his is a particularly special case.

[identity profile] cptn-astro-fan.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, he seems pretty cool from what I can tell.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, "pretty cool" sums it up nicely.

[identity profile] legofortress.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmm, I noticed. He seems... interesting.

I won't say a word, I promise.

Do you mind him being here?

[identity profile] 6caprica6.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
You have secrets from the one you love.

Is that not considered a bad thing in human relationships.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
You're asking me?

I don't love him, but yes, it is usually considered a bad thing.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I don't mind, and he's very interesting, trust me. I'm pleased, really. I think.

[identity profile] legofortress.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Quite funny, too...

Just so long as you don't mind. There are plenty of people I wouldn't like to turn up here...

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yes, he's very clever.

If O. showed up, then I might get upset. I suspect he'd comment on my entries with goat porn and obscene limericks. The Captain--I guess I can call him Jack now, actually--he'll behave. Well. He'll behave like Jack.

[identity profile] legofortress.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I can see that.

...I think it might be better for us all if he doesn't, then. What's goat po-- Actually, never mind.

He seems to be mixing well, though... That's good, isn't it?

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Jack likes people. I'm not surprised at all.

Goat porn is exactly what it sounds like. Be very, very careful of your search terms when researching on the internet, that's all I have to say.

[identity profile] legofortress.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Seemingly so. He's very easy to talk to.

Oh, yes, I'm sure it was all entirely accidental on your part... I'll heed the advice nevertheless, though, thank you.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Despite the slurs cast on my nationality, I have no sexual interest in livestock.

Yes, he is.

[identity profile] legofortress.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't mean that! Just... occasionally... I find a maddening desire to know exactly what is the absolute worst thing on the internet. Perhaps I'm wrong in assuming others do as well...? But I intended no slight to your nationality. ...Anyway, I thought that was sheep, not goats...?

He'll get on well here, then, as it seems everyone here likes to talk...

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I know. Perhaps I'm being too dry.

The worst thing on the internet, I think, is the goatse picture. And no, you don't want to see it.

Oh, I've no doubt he'll get on. He'd thrive underwater. It's a gift.

[identity profile] legofortress.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I was just making sure. I've had... problems with people assuming I was insulting them before. It's not you, really.

...I'll take your word for it, then.

Quite a gift, I'm sure.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
You have to be adaptable in this line of work, don't you think?

[identity profile] legofortress.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably. I've never done very much... Field investigation, though, where I could help it, so it's not a skill I've had a lot of occasion to hone, and I don't think it's a natural talent of mine.

Then again, I'm lucky enough that most situations don't really bother me, unless there are an awful lot of people around.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
It depends on the kind of investigation. It takes training to do undercover well, for example; but being in the field, asking questions and gathering information, that's not as intense. Though for both one needs to be able to think on one's feet.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
I fear that's not a "of course we won't say anything" heh.

[identity profile] frank-chambers.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
It's mostly a "this is gonna be pretty exiting to watch" heh.

[identity profile] rockscientist.livejournal.com 2007-03-30 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
Man, that sucks, or makes things interesting, depending on how you look at it. But he won't hear anything from me.

[identity profile] morethanteaboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-30 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
I appreciate that.

It doesn't suck. Just . . . it'll make things here more interesting. I still want to use this to talk about him and think about things--I'll just have to filter more carefully.

[identity profile] love-the-chase.livejournal.com 2007-04-01 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
Ah. This sounds tricky.

Well, I won't say a word. Trust me.
