You are The Emperor
Stability, power, protection, realization; a great person.
The Emperor is the great authority figure of the Tarot, so it represents
fathers, father-figures and employers. There is a lot of aggression and violence
too.
The Emperor naturally follows the Empress. Like an infant, he is filled with enthuiasm, energy, aggression. He is direct, guileless and all too often irresistible. Unfortunately, like a baby he can also be a tyrant. Impatient, demanding, controlling. In the best of circumstances, he signifies the leader that everyone wants to follow, sitting on a throne that indicates the solid foundation of an Empire he created, loves and rules with intelligence and enthusiasm. But that throne can also be a trap, a responsibility that has the Emperor feeling restless, bored and discontent.
What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.
I . . . have nothing to add. Not even another quiz.

You like it when you've made me sticky.
no subject
No. I love it when I've made you sticky.
...especially when I've made you sticky at work.
no subject
Oh, god, Lorne, don't bring that up. I'll start blushing again and it's only through a well-practiced poker face that I'm even able to meet anyone's eyes.
no subject
I'm a little hurt that you don't want to remember that.
But if it really bothers you, I won't talk about it. (Even if it was extremely hot.)
no subject
I do want to remember it, just not right now. When I get home you can reminisce all you like.
no subject
I suppose that's acceptable.
How's work going today, then? As crazy as before?
no subject
It's not too bad. It's cleanup, now.
Have I told you about the weevils? I think I have a little but I'm not sure.
And how's your day going? Lots of interesting rocks?
no subject
You've mentioned them, but you haven't said much about them.
I haven't had interesting rocks to play with in years now. But I do have an interesting mission coming up. They need a cartographer. And it just so happens that I have experience in both art and surveying. Should be a little bit more interesting than the botany missions anyway.
no subject
<-- Visual.
They're these creatures that wandered through the Rift a few decades back. Mostly they live in the sewers under Cardiff but sometimes one will come to the surface. They're dangerous--deadly, really, so when one comes up we contain and keep it.
Someone was kidnapping them. Using them in a . . . a fight club, I suppose is the best term. They killed at least two people and injured dozens more that way, including Owen.
Reminds me of bear-baiting, really. Sure, they're basically an animal, but that gives no one the right to abuse them or use them to commit murder.
That mission sounds good. Drawing suits you :).
no subject
Is Owen going to be okay?
Christ, that's...insane really.
I'm looking forward to it. Plus, the settlement isn't very far from the gate, so I should still be able to come home at night, most nights.
no subject
Yes, he'll be fine. He's in hospital for a few days.
I know. From what I gather the participants thought it was a way to reconnect with their masculine side. I mean, I've certainly read about people who feel the role of men is being reduced by modern life, but how beating on something that could kill you helps with that is beyond me.
Even better. When you're gone for days I miss you a lot.
no subject
There have definitely been times that I've gone to the sparring rooms to release some frustration, but...that's almost like an exercise in trust. You and the other person both trust each other not to take it too far. Fighting recreationally with something that could kill you is not something I'd probably try. Certainly not to reaffirm my masculinity.
I miss you when I'm gone too.
no subject
And I've boxed, but with headgear and a trainer right in the ring. Not the same thing as beating someone to a pulp just because.
There are other ways to reaffirm one's masculinity, anyway. And much more fun than fighting.
Would they send you on long off-world missions if you're not an officer anymore?
no subject
Oh, much more fun. I prefer the other ways.
I don't know. We certainly have people on off-world teams who aren't officers. But we don't have any team leaders who aren't. It would be a somewhat unique situation. It's possible nothing will change but my rank, but the SGC may kick up a fuss.
I really need to talk to Sheppard about this.
no subject
So do I.
I worry about that part so much. I don't want them to decide they don't need you because you're a civilian.
no subject
You shouldn't be worrying about that, babe. They need pilots, military or not, and they need people with the gene. And I'm good at what I do, and ultimately, Sheppard and Weir make the final decisions on who stays and who goes. I know I can count on Sheppard backing me up, and I'm pretty sure I can count on Weir.
no subject
All right. I'll stop worrying about that.
. . . I'll try to stop worrying about that, anyway.
no subject
I suppose that will have to do.
I'm not going to resign my commission until I'm sure they'll let me stay. Does that ease your fears any?
no subject
Well. It sets aside one set of worries. If they won't let you stay and you decide not to resign, what happens then? We sneak around after all?
no subject
I don't know. I'm just feeling my way here.
no subject
I don't want to cost you your job and your home.
I know you say I'm worth it, but. Well, I don't know what more to say.
no subject
Would that--sneaking around, I mean--would it be a deal-breaker for you? If that's what it came down to?
no subject
No. It wouldn't be a deal-breaker. I don't know what a deal-breaker for us would be, frankly.
I just don't want you to resent me for taking you away from Atlantis. I don't want there to be "You cost me the only place I ever felt was home" to be the final word in our arguments.
no subject
I don't want that either.
And Atlantis is the only place I've ever felt was home anymore. Your flat felt like home too.
no subject
Oh, love. And I want you home with me so much.
I worry about what it'll cost us. What it'll cost you and if the price will be too high.
I just want to make you happy and I worry that this has only made things more complicated.
